What we do
About us
Oakwood Building Solutions Ltd. is a Yukon-based construction design and general contracting company founded in 2024. We believe that quality and affordability can go hand in hand by combining construction efficiency, time-honored craftsmanship, and modern technology.
We are currently expanding our shop in Tagish, Yukon, and developing a line of modular buildings engineered specifically for Yukon conditions and climate. By delivering high-quality, super-insulated, adaptable, and affordable housing, our goal is to actively contribute to solving the North's housing needs.
Quality & Affordability, Hand in Hand
Core Services & Capabilities:
Today, we are a core team of three multi-skilled carpenters backed by an established network of trusted local Yukon trades. This allows us to handle virtually any residential construction request-from initial design to final completion:
Turnkey Modular Garden Suites (Available on Plans): Prefabricated in our Tagish shop, installed on your property, permitted by the City of Whitehorse, connected to utilities, and fully furnished.
Full-Service General Contracting: Complete residential builds, structural upgrades & custom timber framing built for extreme cold and heavy snow loads.
Experience in Leadership and Northern Building
Founder Karl Panchout: Construction Technician & Project Manager
Karl trained as a Carpentry Technician in France and moved to the Yukon in 2016 to experience field carpentry and true wilderness building. While he originally trained in construction management in France, he chose to start from the ground up in Canada as a field laborer in remote northern communities.
He gained extensive hands-on experience across Northern BC, the Yukon, and the NWT, working his way up to managing multi-million-dollar residential and commercial developments for Evergreen Homes and Triple Bottom Line (TBL) in Whitehorse. Karl founded Oakwood Building Solutions Ltd. to bring modern digital manufacturing, CNC precision, and efficient shop workflows to northern housing.
